and I have been connected with CCCF since 1987. We had seen an advert for the Northern Region in a local
newspaper and decided to see what it was all about. After talking to the contact person, we decided that we would
go as day visitors to visit their next rally held in the region.
After spending time with the Northern members, we decided that CCCF was
for us and despite the fact that we had no caravan of our own – David’s
sister and brother-in-law had a caravan and surely they would lend us it if we
asked nicely – we decided that we would join BUT as history has it, that once
we had mentioned the CCCF to David’s sister and brother-in-law they decided to
join themselves (some of you may remember David and Peggy Blowers) and left us
with a problem – how were we going to rally with the Northern members without
a caravan, as obviously now that David and Peggy had joined they would need
their caravan to rally in? We
visited the Region over the next few years as often as we could as day visitors,
but the Lord was looking out for us, and in 1991 we were told of a CCCF member
who was having to give up their caravan due to illness and wanted to give it to
another Christian family who could make use of it.
The NO Secretary unbeknown to us had passed on our details to the Mann
family and the caravan dually arrived – now we could join as full rally
members - and was our pride and joy for the next few years, allowing us to rally
with David and Peggy as well as the rest of the Northern people who we had grown
to love so much!
